Leak testing

Gases are used in many industries, for example in vacuum systems and process piping in manufacturing plants. Equipment and systems containing gases must also meet leakage regulations. However, controlling gases and detecting potential leaks might be a challenge. Usually, the first signs of leaks can be detected by vacuum gauges. Increased consumption of gases consumed by the process can also be a symptom of a leak.

We carry out leak tests using helium on pumps, piping and tanks etc. Helium leak testing is a reliable and cost-effective way to search for possible leakages. The test is carried out by filling the test object with helium gas, after which the leakage points can be located by probe called a sniffer.

Another common method is to analyze a pressurized object with a leak tester, e.g. by injecting helium from the outside into the joint seams. The leak is detected when helium lighter than air penetrates through the leak points and the residual gas analyzer reacts when it detects the helium.
