Leybold TRIVAC

TRIVAC is Leybold's two-stage oil-sealed rotary vane pump, suitable for a wide range of vacuum applications from industrial production to research. It pumps in the rough and medium vacuum range and operates as a backing pump for roots, diffusion, turbomolecular and cryopumps.

Applications and suitability

Two-stage TRIVAC suits a wide range of applications including research, laboratory, pharmaceuticals and industrial production. The pump reaches significantly lower pressures than a single-stage rotary vane pump and operates as a backing pump for various primary pumps. Typical applications:

  • Laboratories and research
  • Freeze-drying (food and pharmaceuticals)
  • Spectrometers
  • MRI equipment
  • Thin film coating
  • Heat treatment and metallurgy
  • Cooling and air-conditioning (RAC)
  • Crystal growth
  • Leak testing

Models and technical data

The TRIVAC range covers two lines: the long-established TRIVAC B (4–65 m³/h) and the newer TRIVAC L (5–90 m³/h). Both are two-stage oil-lubricated rotary vane pumps with differences in design and features.

In TRIVAC B, oil seals, lubricates and cools the pump chamber, providing durability and flexibility across different operating conditions. The pump runs continuously across the full pressure range from atmosphere to ultimate pressure. The internal design is built with serviceability in mind: parts can be removed without special tools and the inner section can be replaced when needed. The range covers pumping speeds from 4.8 to 75 m³/h.

TRIVAC L is the newer generation, designed for stable performance and easier maintenance. The range covers 5–90 m³/h and is supplied as standard with LVO 130 mineral oil.

Why TRIVAC?

Deeper vacuum: Reaches 10⁻⁴ mbar level, operates as a standalone pump in medium vacuum applications and as a backing pump for turbomolecular, roots and diffusion pumps.
Quiet: Noise level 50 dB(A) on smaller models, well suited for laboratory environments.
Easy to service: Inner section replaceable, parts removable without special tools.
Continuous operation: The pump runs uninterrupted from atmosphere to ultimate pressure without separate pressure adjustment.

If you need higher flow rates, see the SOGEVAC serie, which offers larger pumping speeds. For an oil-free solution, SCROLLVAC plus or ECODRY plus are the closest alternatives.

Lifecycle from purchase to maintenance

A TRIVAC pump is a long-term investment, and its reliability and service life depend on how it is maintained along the way. We are here at every stage, from purchase and commissioning to scheduled maintenance and unexpected breakdowns, to keep your pump running reliably throughout its lifecycle.

Purchase and commissioning

When planning a new vacuum pump, we go through your application and requirements together to make sure you select the right TRIVAC model. We handle installation and commissioning and make sure the pump is ready for use from day one.

Initial period and warranty

We follow up after commissioning and are available if any questions or adjustments arise. Warranty matters are handled directly through us, without unnecessary complexity.

Preventive maintenance

We plan an oil change interval and maintenance schedule suited to your usage. Wear parts such as vanes are replaced before they cause failure or production downtime.

Managing downtime

If your pump needs servicing, we provide a replacement pump for the duration, so your production does not come to a halt. The most common spare parts are available quickly to keep maintenance breaks as short as possible.
