Leybold SCROLLVAC
SCROLLVAC plus is Leybold's oil-free scroll vacuum pump for continuous operation. The pumping speed of 6.1–20 m³/h covers laboratory and research use as well as lighter industrial applications where process cleanliness matters.
Applications and suitability
SCROLLVAC plus is suited to applications where the vacuum process must not be exposed to oil. The pump's bearings are fully separated from the pumping chamber, so no lubricant can enter the chamber at any stage of operation. Typical applications:
- Electron microscopy (SEM)
- Particle accelerators and high-energy physics
- Research and development
- Backing pump for turbomolecular pumps
- Centrifuges
- Chamber evacuation
- Chemical applications, such as gel drying and solvent recovery
- Cryopump regeneration (high water vapor pumping capacity)
For more demanding chemical processes, the SCROLLVAC C plus version is available, featuring a chemical-resistant exhaust check valve and gas ballast valve, along with stainless steel inlet and outlet flanges. The C version is suitable for pumping corrosive solvents and chemicals with purge gas.
Models and technical data
The SCROLLVAC plus range covers four size classes: 7, 10, 15, and 18. Rotational speed is the same across all models, and the inlet and outlet flange is DN 25 ISO-KF on all models. The single-phase version operates worldwide on the same unit thanks to a universal voltage range (100–127 V and 200–240 V); the three-phase version is also available as an electronics-free option for radiation and magnetic field applications.

Why SCROLLVAC?
Fully oil-free pumping: The bearing mechanism is hermetically separated from the pumping chamber, so no lubricant can enter the process at any stage of operation.

Initial period and warranty
Preventive maintenance
Since the pump is oil-free, maintenance focuses on replacing the tip seal. The tip seal can be replaced by the user, and service kits and standard spare parts are available directly from our stock.
Managing downtime
If your vacuum process can't tolerate an unexpected shutdown, we arrange a replacement pump for use until we repair the fault. Field service is also available through us.
