Leybold LEYVAC B

LEYVAC B is Leybold's water-cooled, oil-free dry screw vacuum pump for demanding industrial processes. The flow range of 80–160 m³/h covers the needs of heavy process industry and coating applications.

Applications and suitability

LEYVAC B is suited to processes where the gas is corrosive, toxic, or otherwise demanding to handle safely. Its hermetically sealed design prevents oil leaks and emissions to the environment. High pumping speed even at high inlet pressures makes it an efficient solution for continuous processes in heavy industry as well.

LEYVAC B also serves as a backing pump for turbomolecular pumps, in cryopump regeneration, and in general charging, drying, and packaging processes.

Models and technical data

The LEYVAC B range covers three size classes: LV 80 B, LV 120 B, and LV 160 B. All models are water-cooled and use LVO 410 lubricant, which never contacts the process gas. The table below shows the pumping speed, ultimate pressure, dimensions, and connections for each model.

Why LEYVAC B

Hermetically sealed: The pump has no shaft seals to the environment, so no oil leaks or emissions occur. The design also allows safe pumping of toxic and corrosive gases without additional protective measures.
Water-cooled for heavy-duty use: Unlike air-cooled dry screw pumps, LEYVAC B is designed to withstand high loads without loss of performance. Suitable for processes where the pump runs continuously for long periods.
Service interval of up to five years: Long service intervals keep production availability high and reduce the need for planned downtime at industrial scale.
Nanoceramic coating: All internal surfaces in contact with the gas are coated, improving corrosion resistance and extending the pump's service life in chemically demanding processes.

Lifecycle from purchase to maintenance

LEYVAC B is designed for long-lasting, continuous use in heavy industry. The lifecycle from procurement to maintenance proceeds smoothly, stage by stage, when acquisition, commissioning, and contingency planning are managed properly.

Purchase and commissioning

We help you choose the right model for your application, since models within the LEYVAC B series differ in pumping speed and size class. At delivery, we arrange commissioning and on-site guidance, including the water/glycol cooling connection.

Initial period and warranty

A new Leybold vacuum pump comes with a manufacturer's warranty. As Leybold's official dealer, we handle any warranty claims directly, streamlining the process if an unexpected warranty issue arises.

Preventive maintenance

LEYVAC B has a service interval of up to five years. We recommend regular visual inspection during operation. For longer-term maintenance, the pump is returned to a Leybold service center for inspection and servicing. We help schedule this process and arrange the service on your behalf.

Managing downtime

If your vacuum process can't tolerate an unexpected shutdown, we arrange a replacement pump for use until maintenance is complete and LEYVAC B is back in service.
