Leybold NOVADRY
NOVADRY is Leybold's fully oil-free dry screw pump for the food and packaging industry. The flow range of 65–200 m³/h covers everything from smaller integrated applications to more demanding packaging lines.
Applications and suitability
NOVADRY is suited to processes that require complete oil-freedom and hygiene — oil never enters the product or process through the pump. Its self-draining design withstands marinade, grease, and moisture, and the pump operates reliably even in repeated, fast pumping cycles.
Typical applications:
- Vacuum packaging of food
- Vacuum processes in marinating drums
- Vacuum processes in extrusion machines
- Vacuum processes in thermoforming machines
- MAP packaging — NOVADRY withstands oxygen concentrations above 21%
- Biogas production — reactive gases do not damage the oil-free pump
NOVADRY is also available with a hygienic stainless steel enclosure kit, designed to withstand daily washdowns with strong industrial detergents.
Models and technical data
The NOVADRY series covers flow rates of 65–200 m³/h across four models (ND 65, ND 100, ND 160, ND 200). All models are air-cooled and belt-driven, featuring an integrated silencer and a self-draining design for handling moisture and process substances. For higher pumping speed and centralized vacuum systems, the NOVADRY NDi System is also available — a pre-assembled system package with intelligent VAControl CAB control (400 or 600 m³/h).
NOVADRY serie (ND 65–200)
| Model | Pumping speed (m³/h) | Ultimate pressure (mbar) | Motor (kW) | Noise dB(A) | Weight (kg) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| ND 65 | 65 | 0,1 | 1,5 | 67 / 70 | 85 |
| ND 100 | 105 | 0,1 | 2,2 | 67 / 70 | 95 |

Why NOVADRY?
Completely oil-free process chamber: An oil-lubricated pump always carries the risk of oil entering the process or product — in the food industry, this is not an acceptable risk. NOVADRY eliminates it entirely from the ground up.
Designed for the food industry: Its self-draining design withstands marinade, grease, and moisture, and the pump handles oxygen concentrations above 21% in MAP packaging, something many other dry pumps cannot manage.
Low maintenance needs: The entire pump has only two replaceable parts — the belt and the bearings. No oil changes, no filters, no water cooling circuit to maintain.
Quiet and built-in ready: An optimized rotor design and integrated silencer make NOVADRY suitable for direct integration inside machinery without noise or heat disturbing the surroundings.
Lifecycle from purchase to maintenance
NOVADRY is designed for long-lasting, demanding use in the food and packaging industry. The lifecycle from procurement to maintenance proceeds smoothly, stage by stage, when acquisition, commissioning, and contingency planning are managed properly.
Purchase and commissioning
We help you choose the right model for your application, since models within the NOVADRY series differ in pumping speed and size class, and a complete NDi system is also available for larger needs. At delivery, we arrange commissioning and on-site guidance. Since NOVADRY is air-cooled, no separate water or glycol cooling connection is needed, making installation and commissioning simpler than with water-cooled pumps.
Initial period and warranty
A new Leybold vacuum pump comes with a manufacturer's warranty. As Leybold's official dealer, we handle any warranty claims directly, streamlining the process if an unexpected warranty issue arises.
Preventive maintenance
Managing downtime
If your vacuum process can't tolerate unexpected shutdowns, we arrange a replacement pump for use until maintenance is complete and NOVADRY is back in service.
