Leybold DIVAC

DIVAC is Leybold's diaphragm vacuum pump, a completely oil-free solution for chemical laboratories and as a backing pump for turbomolecular pumps. The flow range of 0.6–4.8 m³/h covers the smallest pumps in the entire Leybold range.

Applications and suitability

DIVAC suits two clearly distinct use cases: general chemical laboratory use and as a backing pump for turbomolecular pumps. The laboratory pumps (L series) also withstand aggressive chemicals, while the backing pumps (T series) are optimized for low ultimate pressure and long service life alongside turbo pumps. Choosing the right model depends on the application and required ultimate pressure, which we help you determine. Typical applications:

  • Rotary evaporators
  • Filtration and distillation in the laboratory
  • Sample preparation for analysis
  • Evacuation of small equipment, e.g. desiccators
  • Backing pump for wide-range turbomolecular pumps
  • Mass spectrometry
  • Medical technology
  • General rough and medium vacuum applications

Models and technical data

The DIVAC range comprises nine models in two groups: a four-model laboratory pump series and a five-model series of backing pumps for turbomolecular pumps. The laboratory pumps DIVAC 0.6 L, 1.2 L, and 2.2 L are two-stage, while the DIVAC 1.4 HV3C is three-stage and also withstands aggressive chemicals thanks to its PTFE, FFPM, and PVDF materials.

In the backing pump series, the DIVAC 0.8 T and 0.8 LT are two-stage base models, the DIVAC 1.4 HV3 and 3.8 HV3 are three-stage models offering higher pumping speed at low pressures, and the DIVAC 4.8 VT delivers an especially low vibration level thanks to dynamic mass balancing. You'll find the detailed technical specifications for each model in the expandable tables below.

DIVAC 1.2 L1,2≤ 82120509,3
DIVAC 2.2 L2,0≤ 822455212,6
DIVAC 1.4 HV3C1,3≤ 2,03135*488,6

DIVAC 1.4 HV3C: 35 W motor power at ultimate pressure. Three-stage, chemical-resistant model (PPS pump head, FFPM valves).

Model Pumping speed (m³/h) Ultimate pressure (mbar) Number of pump heads Engine (W) Noise dB(A) Weight (kg)
DIVAC 0.8 T 0,77 ≤ 3,0 2 50 49 5,9
DIVAC 0.8 LT 0,77 ≤ 0,5 4 80 53 7,5
DIVAC 1.4 HV3 1,3 ≤ 1,5 3 120** 48 10,5

DIVAC 4.8 VT 4,8 ≤ 2,0 2 350 55 18,0

T = backing pump for turbomolecular pumps. L = extra-low ultimate pressure. V = low vibration level (dynamic mass balancing, DIVAC 4.8 VT). ** Motor power at ultimate pressure: DIVAC 1.4 HV3 = 35 W, DIVAC 3.8 HV3 = 190 W.

Why DIVAC?

Completely oil-free: The diaphragm separates the pumped gas from all moving parts, so no oil enters the process and no contamination risk arises. This makes DIVAC particularly well suited to analytics and laboratory applications requiring cleanliness.
Long service life at low ultimate pressure: The structured diaphragm enables both a long service life and a low ultimate pressure without the compromises typical of conventional diaphragm pumps.
Quiet operation: A low noise level makes DIVAC suitable even for workspaces where sound level is a relevant factor.
Simple maintenance: Minimal maintenance needs and long service intervals thanks to proven components. Maintenance can typically be carried out by the customer's own staff without special tools.
Flexible installation: A compact, lightweight design that operates in any position, making it easy to integrate into equipment or an existing system.

Lifecycle from purchase to maintenance

DIVAC is designed for low-maintenance operation in every use case, whether as a laboratory pump or as a backing pump for a turbomolecular pump. The lifecycle from procurement to maintenance proceeds smoothly, stage by stage, when acquisition, commissioning, maintenance, and contingency planning are managed properly.

Purchase and commissioning

We help you choose the right model for your application, since laboratory pumps and backing pumps differ in both design and suitability. At delivery, we arrange commissioning and on-site guidance. DIVAC is light and compact, so it's quick to put into service, whether integrated into equipment or used as a standalone pump.

Initial period and warranty

A new Leybold vacuum pump comes with a manufacturer's warranty. The initial period is a good opportunity to get familiar with your pump's normal running sound, making it easier to recognize its behavior later on. As a Leybold dealer, we handle any warranty claims directly, which streamlines the process.

Preventive maintenance

DIVAC is completely oil-free, so no oil changes are needed. Maintenance focuses on monitoring the condition of the diaphragm and valves, with a typical service life of around 10,000 operating hours. We carry out maintenance under agreement, and the necessary spare part kits are available directly from our stock.

Managing downtime

If your process can't tolerate an unexpected shutdown, we arrange a replacement pump for use until the fault is repaired. Field service is also available through us, so the pump doesn't necessarily need to be moved.
