Leybold VACUBE
VACUBE is an oil-sealed screw vacuum pump and a complete, ready-to-use industrial system. The product range covers a wide capacity scale from rough to medium vacuum, suitable for centralised vacuum systems as well as individual process-specific applications.
Applications and suitability
VACUBE operates optimally in the 5–500 mbar pressure range, making it a natural choice for processes requiring stable and continuous vacuum at larger scale. A single VACUBE can serve centralised vacuum systems as well as utility vacuum needs in healthcare and laboratory environments, and process-specific applications such as drying.
- Food packaging (skin, MAP, canning) and food processing
- Freeze drying for food and pharmaceutical industries
- Thermoforming and large-scale moulding
- Glass forming
- Wood and lamination, composite manufacturing
- Lifting and transfer
- Drying and degassing
Models and technical data
VACUBE is available in ten models, from VQ 400 to VQ 4800, with pumping speeds ranging from 420 m³/h to nearly 5,000 m³/h. Each model is available in several variants to match operating conditions — dedicated options exist for humid processes and intermittent use. The tables below contain model-specific technical data, dimensions, connections and available variants.

VACUBE series control and automation
VACUBE includes the integrated Leybold VAControl™ control system as standard, making it an intelligent industrial system rather than just a pump. The variable speed drive and built-in sensor automatically adjust pumping speed to match the process vacuum demand, resulting in significantly lower energy consumption compared to fixed-speed centralised vacuum systems.
- Intelligent PI control combined with PLC logic, the pump adapts automatically to process requirements
- Pumping speed adjustment according to current demand
- Running hours counter and service alerts, maintenance can be scheduled proactively
- Multiple VACUBE units controlled from a single display when several units are running in parallel
- Supports the most common industrial communication protocols: Modbus, Profibus and Profinet

Why VACUBE?
Ready-to-use system: not just a pump, the inlet filter, valve, exhaust filters, cooling, variable speed drive and electrical cabinet are all included in one unit. Simplifies installation and reduces the need to source separate components.
Cost-effective solution: a single VACUBE can replace multiple separate pumps, simplifying the system and reducing overall costs compared to centralised vacuum systems.
Energy-efficient operation: the built-in sensor maintains the required vacuum level at the lowest necessary power. The pump does not run at full energy consumption when there is no vacuum demand, resulting in significantly lower energy consumption compared to fixed-speed centralised vacuum systems.
Easy maintenance: the screw element service interval is up to 48,000 running hours in normal operation. Servicing can be carried out from one side of the pump, reducing the time and effort required for maintenance.
Low noise level: lower than rotary vane and dry vane pumps, making it easier to place the unit in production environments.
Lifecycle from purchase to maintenance
VACUBE is a long-term investment that performs best when procurement, commissioning and maintenance are planned as a single whole. Active Vacuum is with you throughout, from selecting the right model to commissioning and ongoing maintenance that keeps the pump reliable throughout its service life.
Purchase and commissioning
VACUBE is delivered as a complete unit: the filter, valve, cooling, variable speed drive and electrical cabinet are already part of the same frame, with no need to source or integrate separate components. All connections are located on top of the unit, making it easier to plan the installation space and speeding up commissioning. We assist with selecting the right pump type and variant as needed, and agree on commissioning and on-site training at the time of delivery.
Initial period and warranty
A vacuum technology specialist is on hand during commissioning, so there is no need to figure things out yourself or deal directly with the manufacturer. Warranty matters are handled through us, with no need to contact multiple parties. Support is available from the very beginning if any questions or uncertainties arise during use.
Preventive maintenance
The VACUBE running hours counter and service alerts schedule maintenance based on actual need, not the calendar. The screw element service interval is up to 48,000 running hours in normal operation, and servicing can be carried out from one side of the pump, making it faster and simpler.
Managing downtime
The long service interval and ease of maintenance reduce the number and duration of interruptions to your process. The running hours counter and service alerts allow maintenance to be scheduled proactively without surprises. Where needed, process continuity is ensured with a replacement pump from us during servicing.
