Leybold SOGEVAC

SOGEVAC (SV series) is Leybold's single-stage, oil-lubricated rotary vane vacuum pump for continuous operation. The pumping speed range of 10–750 m³/h covers everything from small-scale applications to large industrial production.

Applications and suitability

The SV series is built for continuous operation, including demanding processes with moisture or fluctuating gas loads. The pump works both as a standalone unit and as part of a centralized vacuum system. Suitability varies somewhat by model size, and we're happy to help you find the right one. Typical applications:

Models and technical data

The SV series covers pumping speeds from 10–750 m³/h across twelve B-series models. The SV 16 and SV 25 size classes are also available in a more compact D version, with the motor integrated into a smaller housing. In the smaller B-series models (SV 10 B–65 B), the motor and pump share a common shaft, while in the larger models (SV 100 B–750 B) the motor is connected via coupling or belt drive, depending on the application.

All models include an integrated gas ballast that removes process moisture during operation. SV 100 B–750 B models also feature a direct Roots pump connection, allowing the vacuum range to be extended without a separate mounting frame. Why SOGEVAC?

Low noise level: According to Leybold, SOGEVAC pumps are typically around 50% quieter than comparable oil-lubricated rotary vane pumps on the market — a significant advantage in open production spaces.
Low energy consumption: According to the manufacturer, energy consumption is typically 15–20% lower than comparable rotary vane pumps at the same pumping speed, which is reflected directly in operating costs during continuous use.
Clean exhaust: An integrated exhaust filter keeps the exhaust gas oil-mist free across the entire operating pressure range, from atmospheric pressure to ultimate pressure.
Safe shutdown: An integrated anti-suckback valve (ASBV) closes the intake when the pump stops, preventing oil from flowing back into the process. From the SV 470 B model onward, the valve can be controlled hydraulically or electrically, providing up to 25% more pumping capacity in the low-pressure range.

Lifecycle from purchase to maintenance

SOGEVAC is designed for continuous operation with no special usage restrictions, and its construction is kept simple for ease of maintenance. The lifecycle from purchase to maintenance runs smoothly through each stage, as we handle purchase, commissioning, maintenance, and contingency planning all under one roof.

Purchase and commissioning

We help you choose the right pump type and model for your application, since factors like oil grade and connection type vary by model within the SV series. At delivery, we arrange commissioning and on-site guidance. Correct start-up and initial adjustments extend the maintenance interval and prevent early-stage issues.

Initial period and warranty

New Leybold vacuum pumps come with a manufacturer's warranty. The initial period is a good time to get familiar with your pump's normal running sound and oil condition, so you can easily recognize how your pump behaves going forward. As a Leybold dealer, we handle any warranty claims directly, which simplifies the process.

Preventive maintenance

Maintenance on the SV series, such as oil and filter changes, is predictable and can be scheduled in advance. Oil changes are typically carried out every 2,000–4,000 operating hours, depending on conditions. We carry out maintenance by agreement, and standard maintenance parts and spares are available directly from our stock.

Managing downtime

If your vacuum process can't tolerate an unexpected shutdown, we arrange a replacement pump until the fault is repaired. Field service is also available through us — your pump doesn't necessarily need to be moved.
